Felisha and Chad are absolutely perfect for each-other. First off, they are madly in love. And secondly, they both enjoy very similar things. They both love wine tasting, antiquing, and spending time with friends and family.
Although they didn’t get to have their original wedding, I think it’s safe to say their wedding was still incredible, and will be remembered forever and ever as amazing. Covid-19 has affected so many engaged couples, but Felisha and Chad’s resilience and persistance is incredible. Not only did they still get married, but the did it in a safe, stylish, and memorable way!
Usually, after the Wedding, I sit down and write a blog about the couple’s love story, how they met, etc. But, I asked Felisha to tell me her story, and what she wrote was incredible, so I just had to include it in her blog post. Isn’t she an incredible writer?!
Felisha-
We met out celebrating his birthday with his buddies. Chad decided to tweak his dating profile and start looking at who was out there. He happened upon Felisha’s profile and with the best pick up line wrote “Hey cutie”, making Felisha stop mid-stride down the grocery aisle and smile. Deciding to first check out his profile before responding, she liked what she saw in his photos. However, reaching his description page, she noted that he was 4 years younger than her. Disappointed, she went to exit his profile when a single word caught her eye… “karaoke”.
She thought to herself of her love for karaoke and asked herself what harm could be done with just talking? She decided to reply with a “thank you”. They then spoke for 6 hours straight through messaging. By the end of the conversation, both needing sleep at some point, Chad asked Felisha to go on a date with him, and with a grin, she agreed.
The plan was to meet at a sushi restaurant, Felisha’s first time experiencing the joy that is sushi. That plan did not come to fruition due to Felisha receiving 7 vaccinations only 4 hours beforehand, resulting in her not feeling adventurous with food. Chad still wanted to meet this woman that intrigued him and Felisha still wanted to meet the man that made her smile so much her face hurt. Asking her what she wanted to do instead, Chad never expected her response. Chad jokes now that when she suggested that they go to a shooting range for their first date, it was at that moment he knew she was the one.
When Chad walked in the door and laid eyes on Felisha he had mixed feelings of excitement and nerves meeting the woman that was so daring as to wield a gun on a first date. Felisha on the other hand felt nothing but heart eye emojis for the handsome man standing in front of her, reaching out a hand for her to shake. Standing there looking in each other’s eyes as their hands clasped together, neither knew that this moment was only the beginning of their love story.
Chad decided to propose to Felisha after attending the funeral of a fellow coworker. As odd as that sounds, hearing his story, and the life he had with his wife, Chad could not help but see how similar their stories were. Not wanting to wait another moment without telling Felisha how much he loved her and vow to be together always, he bought a ring and asked for her father’s blessing….. and then waited 6 months for the right moment to come. However, he wanted the moment to be natural, organic if you may.
Felisha had finals to study for and decided to leave for a last-minute study session, on the same night he randomly decided that he wanted to cook for her. Disappointed that she wouldn’t be home till later but completely supportive of her dreams, Chad sat at home, wondering how to fill his time. Then it hit him! NOW was the perfect moment while Felisha was gone and he had an excuse to go to his secret hiding spot to fetch the ring. There is no such thing as perfect, just them living their life in love.
When Felisha returned home, dinner was ready and she was famished. Chad nervously ate, wondering if Felisha noticed the oddly shaped bulge in his sweater’s pouch, that was precariously worn on a hot spring day. After eating, Felisha was determined to continue studying for finals, she lounged on the couch with her laptop on her lap. Per usual, Felisha was cold and asked for Chad to tuck her in. Not even noting his nervousness or the fact that he got down on one knee he grinned as he helped her. Then taking her hand, Felisha thinking how lovely that gesture was, he asked her to be his wife.
In the middle of his proposal, she exclaimed with tears in her eyes, “no you’re not”. He opened the box, which had a light (how fitting) in its lid, and she said yes! He placed the ring on her finger and they kissed, no longer as boyfriend and girlfriend, but as future husband and wife.
